Paraffin wax fumes generated under elevated temperature may be irritating to the nose and throat, and result in discomfort and nausea. Primary Route of Exposure: Skin Health Effect Information EYE CONTACT: This product is minimally irritating to the eyes upon direct contact. Based on testing of similar products and/or components. SKIN CONTACT: This product is minimally irritating to the skin upon direct contact. Based on testing of similar products and/or components. INHALATION: Avoid inhalation of fumes. Caution should be taken to prevent generation of fumes. Paraffin wax fumes, if generated are considered hazardous, according to the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard. This product has a low vapor pressure and is not expected to present an inhalation hazard at ambient conditions. Caution should be taken to prevent aerosolization or misting of this product. Exposure to vapors generated under unusual conditions may be mildly irritating to the nose and throat. Working with molten paraffin may be uncomfortable to the respiratory tract and nauseating. INGESTION: This product is regarded as having a low order of toxicity. Do not ingest. This product has laxative properties and may result in abdominal cramps and diarrhea. If material is hot, treat for thermal burns and seek immediate medical attention. Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash contaminated area thoroughly with soap and water. If redness or irritation occurs and persists, seek medical attention. If material is hot, submerge injured area in cold water. If victim is severely burned, remove to a hospital immediately. Inhalation: This material has a low vapor pressure and is not expected to present an inhalation exposure at ambient conditions. If fumes are generated when the material is heated or handled, remove victim from exposure. Ingestion: No treatment is necessary under ordinary circumstances. Do not induce vomiting.
