Acute Health Effects: From MSDS
EFFECTS AND HAZARDS
INHALATION (BREATHING): Major route of exposure. Vapor is heavier than air and can cause suffocation by reducing the available oxygen for breathing. Breathing high concentrations of vapor may cause light-headedness, giddiness, shortness of breath, confusion, and may lead to narcosis, cardiac irregularities, unconsciousness or even death.
EYE CONTACT: Liquid may cause temporary irritation with temporary corneal injury. Vapors may be irritating to eyes.
SKIN CONTACT: This product may be painful and irritating if confined to skin by gloves, clothing, etc. Prolonged or repeated contact with skin can cause defatting and dermatitis.
INGESTION (SWALLOWING): Single dose toxicity is low to moderate. If vomiting occurs the liquid can be aspirated into lungs, which can cause chemical pneumonia and systemic effects. Human psychotropic, gastrointestinal, and central nervous system effects possible.

Carboxyhemoglobin levels can be elevated in persons exposed to methylene chloride and can cause a substantial stress on the cardiovascular system. This elevation can be additive to the increase caused by smoking.

Emergency And First Aid Procedures
TREATMENT FOR INHALATION (BREATHING)
If affected, remove to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, administer oxygen. If breathing has stopped give artificial respiration. Keep person warm, quiet and get medical attention.

TREATMENT FOR EYE CONTACT
Flush eyes for at least 15 minutes with clear water. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.

TREATMENT FOR SKIN CONTACT
Wash with soap and water.

TREATMENT FOR INGESTION (SWALLOWING)
DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING! Give 2 glasses of water and immediately seek medical attention.

Material may be disposed of by a licensed reclaimer or incineration facility. Consult local, state, and federal disposal authorities for approved procedures. Do not incinerate or destroy aerosol cans.
