Do not store in areas with widely fluctuating temperatures and do not store where vapors may come in contact with flames, sparks, or heat. |
| From MSDS:Hazards IdentificationPotential Health EffectsInhalation: If mists or vapors are generated at high concentrations, may cause pallor, nausea, anesthetic or narcotic effects, blurred vision and irritation of the upper respiratory passages.Skin contact: Thismaterial may cause mild skin irritation. Prolonged or repeated contact may cause redness, cracking and blistering of skin. Eye contact: Eye contact can cause irritation. Direct contact with the liquid or exposure to vapors or mists may cause stinging, tearing, redness and blurred vision.Skin absorption: Due to low evaporation rate, components can be absorped through skin causing numbness and blurred vision.Ingestion: Ingestion health risks and symptoms of exposure: ingestion can cause severe internal irritation.Medical conditions generally aggravated by exposure: None |
| From MSDS:Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling the product may be harmful or fatal. Reports have associated repeated and prolonged overexposure to solvents with permanent brain, nervous system, liver and kidney damage. |
| Methylene chloride is listed as a potential carcinogen by IARC. Methylene chloride has been shown to increase the rate of spontaneously occurring malignant tumors in one strain of laboratory mouse and benign tumors in laboratory rats. Other animal studies and human epidemiology studies have not shown a tumorigenic response which could be related to methylene chloride. Excessive exposure may cause carboxyhemoglobinemia and impair blood's ability to transport oxygen. It is believed that savogran products are safe for the average healthy individual to use when used as recommended. |
| Skin contact: Wash thoroughly with soap and water.thoroughly launder contaminated clothing before reuse. If irritation and redness persists, see physician.Eye contact: Flood with plenty of water with eye lids held open for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention promptly.Inhalation: If illness occurs, remove patient to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If breathing has stopped, start artificial respiration. Call physician immediately.Swallowing: Keep person warm and quiet and get medical attention. Immediately give two glasses of water if conscious. |
