Immediate Concerns: High dust concentrations may cause mild upper respiratory tract irritation with coughing and nasal discharge. Eye or skin contact may cause mild, transient irritation.
Potential Health Effects
Eyes: May cause slight, temporary irritation.
Skin: May cause mild irritation.
Ingestion: May cause nausea, vomiting along with mild irritation to the mouth, throat, esophagus and stomach.
Inhalation: High dust concentrations may cause mild upper respiratory tract irritation with and nasal discharge.
Routes of Entry: Ingestion, skin, inhalation, and eyes.
Toxological Information:
General Comments: This product contains urea (CAS#57-13-6) and is affirmed as generally recognized as safe (GRAS) in accordance with U.S. FDA, 21 CFR, 184. Exposure can occur by eye or skin contact, ingestion, or inhalation of dusts or mists. Eye contact with an unspecified amount of urea powder has caused reversible corneal opacity along with irritation as a foreign body in the eye with tearing, and blinking. Skin contact with powdered urea is not expected to cause irritation. Dermal absorption is expected to be minimal (6-11%). Ingestion is expected to cause nausea, vomiting, and possible excitement and convulsions. These high exposure levels are not considered relevant to occupational or normal use exposure situations.

Eyes: If in eyes, hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.
Skin: If on skin or clothing, take off contaminated clothing, rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.
Ingestion: If swallowed, call a poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow. Do not induce vomiting unless told to by a poison control center or doctor. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Inhalation: Move person to fresh air. Call a poison control center or doctor for further treatment advice. If person is not breathing, call 911 or an ambulance, then give artificial respiration, preferably mouth-to-mouth. Call a poison control center or doctor for further treatment advice.
