Acute Health Effects: From MSDS HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION Emergency Overview CAUTION! Color: Multi-colored granule; Form: Solid; Odor: Slight ammonia; May cause eye irritation. Routes of Exposure Inhalation; Skin Contact; Eye Contact Potential Health Effects EFFECTS OF EXPOSURE : Exposure during the labeled use of this product is expected to be minimal. End-user should refer to the packaging label for proper handling procedures. Exposure to fertilizers (dust) may be irritating to the nose, throat, and respiratory tract, and may cause sore throat, coughing, and shortness of breath. Skin irritation may result. Dust may also be irritating to the eyes, causing redness and watering. Prolonged eye exposure may cause conjunctivitis and corneal damage. Ingestion may result in sore throat, abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea. MEDICAL CONDITIONS AGGRAVATED BY EXPOSURE: Pre-existing eye, skin, or respiratory conditions.
Chronic Health Effects: From MSDS Repeated or prolonged skin exposures may result in dermatitis.
Carcinogenicity: This product is not listed by NTP, IARC or regulated as a carcinogen by OSHA. It may contain trace amounts of inorganic fluorides and crystalline silica. Fluorides have been suggested as a reproductive hazard and a carcinogen. Crystalline silica is listed by IARC as a Group 1 carcinogen.
First Aid: FIRST AID FOR EYES : Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing eye. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice. FIRST AID FOR SKIN : Take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice. FIRST AID FOR INHALATION: Move person to fresh air. If person is not breathing, call 911 or an ambulance, then give artificial respiration, preferably by mouth-to-mouth, if possible. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment information. FIRST AID FOR INGESTION.: Call poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow. Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by physician or poison control center. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. NOTE TO PHYSICIAN : Treat symptomatically.
