| Avoid breathing dust. |
| From MSDS:Health Hazard DataInhalation: Undue breathlessness, wheezing, cough and sputum production.Skin and eye contact: Dust can irritate eyes and upper respiratory system. When mixed with water, the product can dry the skin and cause alkali burns. Hypersensitive individuals may develop an allergic reaction.Skin absorption: Exposure may cause drying of the skin with consequent mild irritation. When mixed with water, prolonged direct contact with the skin may cause more severe skin effects, including thickening, cracking or fissuring of the skin.Ingestion: : Internal discomfort or ill effects are possible if large quantities of the product are swallowed.Medical conditions generally aggravated by exposure: Inhalation of the dust can aggravate respiratory conditions. |
| From MSDS:Prolonged exposure to respirable crystalline silica may cause delayed injury. |
| IARC concludes that there is sufficient evidence in humans and experimental animals for the carcinogenicity of crystalline silica in the forms of quartz or crystobalite. (IARC Group 1). Titanium dioxide has been characterized by iarc as possibly carcinogenic to humans (Group 2b) through inhalation (not ingestion). This classification is based upon animal inhalation studies. Epidemiology studies do not suggest an increased risk of cancer in humans from occupational exposure to titanium dioxide. |
| Eye contact: immediately flush eye throughly with water. Continue flushing eye for at least 15 minutes, including under lids, to remove all particles. Call physician.Skin contact: Wash skin with cool water and ph neutral soap or mild detergent. See a physician if irritation is present.Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. If conscious, have the victim drink plenty of water and call a physician.Inhalation: Remove person to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, administer oxygen. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. |
