Health Effects

| From MSDS:EMERGENCY OVERVIEW May cause skin irritation. Eye irritant. May cause burns and corneal abrasions. May cause upper respiratory irritation. Ingestion may cause burns to the mouth, pharynx, esophagus and stomach. Potential Health Effects EYE: May cause severe eye irritation with possible burns and corneal abrasions. SKIN CONTACT: May cause various severities of irritation upon prolonged, repeated or occluded contact.INGESTION: May cause pain and burns to mucous membranes, the esophagus and stomach, with vomiting and diarrhea. INHALATION : Exposure to high dust concentrations may cause physical discomfort of the upper respiratory tract with coughing, difficulty breathing, dryness, and sore throat. |
| From MSDS:Can cause eye injury upon prolonged contact. Prolonged, repeated or occluded skin contact with concentrated product can cause irritation. Diatomaceous earth (likely to contain some amount of crystalline silica) and/or quartz (crystalline silica) may greatly increase the potential for a disabling silicosis to occur. Long-term exposure to concentrations of sodium silicofluoride above the workplace standards for inorganic fluoride compounds by inhalation may cause fluorosis. |

| EYES: Immediately rinse eyes with plenty of clean flowing water, low pressure and lukewarm if possible, occasionally lifting upper and lower eyelids. Get medical attention if pain or irritation persist. SKIN: Rinse affected area with mild soap and large amounts of water until no evidence of product remains. Seek medical attention if irritation persists. INHALATION: Immediately remove affected person from area of exposure to fresh air. Treat symptomatically and supportively. Get medical attention or contact a local poison control center. If breathing has stopped, give artificial respiration and get immediate medical attention.INGESTION: Maintain airway and respiration. If vomiting occurs, keep head below hips to prevent aspiration. Dilution by rinsing the mouth and giving water or milk to drink is generally recommended. Do not attempt to give anything orally to an unconscious person. Treat symptomatically and supportively. Get medical attention or contact local poison control. |
