Contents under pressure. Do not puncture or incinerate. Do no store at temperatures above 120 degrees F. or use near fire or flame. This product contains ingredients which may cause skin irritation on certain individuals and a preliminary test according to accompanying directions should first be made. This product must not be used for dyeing the eyelashes or eyebrows; to do so may cause blindness.
From MSDS Inhalation: Mousse products contain propellants. Avoid inhalation. High concentration of propellant may cause anesthesia or anoxia. Eye Contact: CAUTION. Hair colors are eye irritants. Skin Contact: May induce an allergic skin reaction in sensitized individuals. Aerosol mousse products contain propellant. Contact with propellant may cause frostbite. Ingestion: May cause strong burning sensation. Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure: Pre-existing dermatitis would likely be exaggerated by exposure to semi-permanent color products. Bronchitis may be aggravated by irritant vapors.
From MSDS The semi permanent dye products have been tested in lifetime skin painting studies on laboratory animals. No adverse effects on growth, reproduction or general health were observed. In the topical studies, other than limited effect on treated skin, no target organ toxicity was observed in respect to any organ.
From MSDS The semi permanent dye products contain Disperse Blue 1, which is listed by IARC in Group 2B as possibly carcinogenic to humans, and Acid Orange 3 which, when fed in extremely high doses to rats over their entire lifetime, were shown to be carcinogenic to the bladder kidneys, respectively. No such effects occurred at lower doses in the same studies. These lower doses were equivalent to a woman drinking 12 ounces of product per day in the case of Disperse Blue 1, and 268 ounces of product per day for Acid Orange 3, throughout her lifetime. These results show that these ingredients pose no carcinogenic hazard to humans under normal conditions of exposure.
