| From MSDS Inhalation: Cetyl alcohol: Inhalation of 258 mg/m3 for 6 hours caused slight local irritation in rats, mice, and guinea pigs. Cocoa butter: Unlikely to occur given product type. Glycerin: Due to its low vapor pressure glycerin is not considered likely to be an inhalation hazard at normal room temperatures. Vapor or mist in sufficient concentrations may interfere with respiratory function. At elevated temperatures the fume may cause irritation and dehydration of the mucous membranes. Petrolatum: Mist may irritate the nose and throat. Inhalation of petroleum-derived oils may result in lipid pneumonia and lipid granuloma of the long. Eye Contact: Cetyl alcohol: Instillation of 0.1 ml of the undiluted material caused slight conjunctival irritation in rabbits. Cocoa butter: No data available. Glycerin: May cause irritation with stinging and burning. Petrolatum: Liquid and mist may cause irritation. Skin Contact: Cetyl alcohol: Contact may cause irritation. Sensitization reactions with urticaria may occur, but are rare. Cocoa butter: No data available. Glycerin: May cause irritation. Petrolatum: Rarely hypersensitivity reactions and dermatitis have been reported. Ingestion: Cetyl alcohol: The LD50 reported in rats was 6400 mg/kg.
