Health Effects
|
|
| Contains sodium silicate. Avoid eye contact, flush with water for 15 minutes. Avoid prolonged skin contact, wash thoroughly with water. Call physician, emergency room, poison control center immediately. Keep out of reach of children. |
| From MSDS Inhalation: Breathing vapors or mists may cause irritation to the mucous membranes and to the respiratory tract, headache, dizziness and drowsiness. Skin Contact: Single or brief exposure is not expected to cause skin irritation. A component of this product, 2-butoxyethanol can penetrate skin readily, however, because of low concentrations in this product, toxicity resulting from skin absorption is unlikely unless contact is extensive or prolonged. Toxicity would be as is listed for a large ingestion. Eye Contact: May cause irritation with excess tearing, reddening and swelling of the conjunctiva. Ingestion: Ingestion of a small amount of this material, as would be expected from an accidental ingestion, is expected to have little acute systemic toxicity. Ingestion may cause irritation of the mouth, throat, and stomach with possible nausea, vomiting and abdominal discomfort. A very large ingestion could result in headache, dizziness, incoordination, general weakness and possible kidney and liver injury. Coma, metabolic acidosis and non-cardiogenic pulmonary edema have been described after massive ingestions. |
| From MSDS Animals receiving repeated oral doses of 2-butoxyethanol, a component of this product, developed hemolytic anemia and secondary injury to the kidneys and liver. |
| From MSDS None of the ingredients is listed as a carcinogen or potential carcinogen by IARC, NTP or OSHA. No evidence of carcinogenicity exists from available information. This product does not contain chemicals regulated by the State of California under Proposition 65. |
