Response

IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water. If skin irritation occurs: Get medical attention. Take off contaminated clothing and wash it before reuse.

IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor.

Emergency Overview

Danger. Contains Tetrasodium Ethylenediamine Tetraacetate; Amines, coco alkyldimethyl, N-oxides; and Sodium hydroxide. Causes serious eye damage. Causes skin irritation. Suspected of causing cancer.

Potential Health Effects

Eye Contact: Causes severe eye irritation, and burns. May cause eye damage.

Skin Contact: Causes skin irritation. Non-corrosive based on test data.

Inhalation: Mist and vapors may cause irritation to the eyes, mucous membranes and upper respiratory tract.

Ingestion: Swallowing may cause gastrointestinal disturbances.
Chronic Health Effects: From SDS:

Effects on the urinary tract and kidneys have been reported in laboratory animal studies.
Carcinogenicity: Nitrilotracetate, trisodium salt (NTA) is listed by IARC as 2B: Possibly carcinogenic to humans. None of the other components is listed as a carcinogen or potential carcinogen by IARC, NTP, ACGIH or OSHA.
First Aid: Eye Contact: If contact occurs, immediately flush eyes with large quantities of water for at least 20 minutes, holding the eyelids apart. Get immediate medical attention.

Skin Contact: Rinse skin with plenty of water. If skin irritation develops, seek medical attention.

Inhalation: If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If breathing is difficult have qualified personnel administer oxygen. Get medical attention.

Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting unless directed to by a doctor or physician. If the victim is fully conscious, have them rinse their mouth with water. Get medical assistance by calling a doctor or poison center. Never give anything by mouth to a person who is unconscious or drowsy.

Handling/Disposal
Handling: Avoid contact with eyes. Avoid contact with skin and clothing. Avoid breathing vapors or mists. Use only with appropriate protective equipment. Launder contaminated clothing before re-use. Wash thoroughly after handling and before eating, drinking, smoking or using toilet facilities. Empty containers retain product residue and may be hazardous. Do not cut, weld, drill, etc. containers, even empty. Do not reuse empty containers. Protect containers from physical damage. Store in a cool, well-ventilated area away from acids and other incompatible materials. May be corrosive to aluminum. Keep out of the reach of children.
Disposal: Dispose of in accordance with all local, state/provincial and federal regulations.Offer empty containers for recycling.
