From MSDS:Hazards IdentificationEmergency Overview: Warning! Harmful if swallowed, inhaled, or absorbed through the skin. May cause central nervous system depression. May cause harm to the unborn child. Possible risk of impaired fertility. May cause eye irritation.Routes of Exposure: Inhalation, Skin, Eyes.Potential Health EffectsIngestion: Harmful if swallowed. Irritation of the mouth, throat, and stomach. May cause gastrointestinal irritation. May cause reproductive effects based on results of animal studies.Skin contact: May be absorbed through the skin and contribute to the symptoms listed under Ingestion. Can cause irritation and reddening of the skin.Inhalation: Symptoms of overexposure may be headache, dizziness, tiredness, nausea and vomiting. Can irritate mucous membranes and respiratory tract with coughing and shortness of breath. Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. To avoid aspiration should vomiting occur, have the person lean forward. Get medical attention immediately. If victim is conscious, give 2-4 glasses of water. Never induce vomiting unless specifically directed by qualified medical personnel. Do not give victim anything to drink if he is unconscious.Skin contact: Flush skin with large amounts of water for at least 15 minutes until no evidence of chemical remains. Wash with soap and water.Inhalation: Move to fresh air. If not breathing, begin artificial respiration using a barrier device. Because of chemical properties, do not use mouth-to-mouth contact.Eye contact: In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention if irritation persists.Note to Physician: Treatment is symptomatic and supportive. |
