Prevention

Keep out of reach of children. Read label before use. Do not handle until all safety precautions have been read and understood. Keep only in original container. Do not breathe dust/fume/gas/mist/vapours/spray. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Avoid release to the environment. Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection. Use personal protective equipment as required. In case of inadequate ventilation wear respiratory protection. Gently wash with plenty of soap and water. Rinse immediately contaminated clothing and skin with plenty of water before removing clothes. Fight fire with normal precautions from a reasonable distance. Store in a dry place. Absorb spillage to prevent material damage.

Response

IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water. Take off contaminated clothing.

IF ON SKIN (or hair): Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower. Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician.

IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention.

IF INHALED: Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. Call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician.

IF SWALLOWED: rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting.

Storage

Protect from sunlight. Store in a well-ventilated place. Do not expose to temperatures exceeding 50 deg C / 122 deg F.Store locked up.

Disposal

Dispose of contents/container in accordance with local, regional and national regulations.

Potential Health Effects

Eye Contact: Corrosive. Will cause eye burns and permanent tissue damage, including blindness. Substance causes severe eye irritation. Injury may be permanent.

Skin Contact: Substance is corrosive. Causes severe skin burns. Corrosive; causes skin burning. Severely irritating; may cause permanent skin damage.

Inhalation: Prolonged or excessive inhalation may cause respiratory tract irritation.

Harmful if inhaled. High gas, vapor, mist or dust concentrations may be harmful if inhaled. Avoid breathing fumes, spray, vapors, or mist. High vapor concentrations are irritating to the eyes, nose, throat and lungs.

Ingestion: Corrosive and may cause severe and permanent damage to mouth, throat and stomach.
Chronic Health Effects: From SDS:

Repeated exposure to low concentrations of HCl vapor or mist may cause bleeding of nose and gums.
Carcinogenicity: Carbon black is listed as a Group 2B-Possibly carcinogenic to humans by IARC and is proposed to be listed as A4- not classified as a human carcinogen by the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists. Significant exposure is not anticipated
First Aid: Eye Contact: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes holding eyelids open. Get medical attention. Do NOT allow rubbing of eyes or keeping eyes closed.

Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin with soap and water. Get medical attention. Wash skin with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing. Get medical attention if irritation develops or persists. Immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing clothing. Get medical attention immediately. Wash clothing separately before reuse. Destroy contaminated shoes.

Inhalation: If you experience difficulty in breathing, leave the area to obtain fresh air. If continued difficulty is experienced, get medical assistance immediately. Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get immediate medical attention. Do NOT use mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting unless advised by a physician. Call nearest Poison Control Center or Physician immediately. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. If victim is conscious and alert, give 2 to 4 cupfuls of water or milk. Call a physician or poison control center immediately. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Treat symptomatically and supportively.

Handling/Disposal
Handling: Wash thoroughly after handling. Follow all SDS/label precautions even after container is emptied because it may retain product residues. Wash hands before eating. Remove contaminated clothing and launder before reuse. Use only with adequate ventilation. Avoid breathing fumes, vapors, or mist. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Keep away from heat, sparks, flame and sources of ignition. Store in a dry, well ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed when not in use.
Disposal: Dispose of material in accordance to local, state, and federal regulations and ordinances. Do not allow to enter waterways, wastewater, soil, storm drains or sewer systems.
