Summary of Risks:
Moderately toxic by ingestion and skin contact. Excessive exposure may cause liver damage. Ingestion may cause throat irritation, nausea, diarrhea, and hematemesis (vomiting blood). Absorption through intact skin may contribute to exposure. Skin contact may cause irritation characterized by dryness, redness and pain. Prolonged skin contact may cause blistering.
Direct contact may irritate eyes, causing redness and pain.
Inhalation of vapor or mist may cause respiratory irritation and central nervous system depression. Symptoms include dizziness, drowsiness, excitability, incoordination, irritation of eyes, nose and throat, and nausea.
Medical conditions which may be aggravated by contact: Problems with eyes, skin, central nervous system, kidneys and liver may be worsened by exposure.
Target Organs: Skin, eyes, respiratory tract, central nervous system, liver, and gastrointestinal tract.
Primary Entry Route(s): Ingestion, inhalation and skin absorption.

Results of a lifetime feeding study indicate that Etridiazole is carcinogenic to rats at levels of 640 ppm and 1280 ppm in the diet. No increase in tumors was found at a dosage level of 100 ppm.

Eyes: If in eyes, flush with water for 15 minutes holding eyelids open. Get medical attention if irritation persists.
Ingestion: Call a physician or poison control center immediately. probable mucosal damage may contraindicate the use of gastral lavage. Vomiting may cause aspiration pneumonia. Get medical attention immediately.
Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash affected area with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation develops or persists.
Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air, induce coughing immediately. Restore and/or support breathing as needed. Have a trained person administer oxygen, if necessary. Call a physician immediately.
