Hazards Identification

Emergency Overview: Caution. Causes eye and skin irritation.

Potential Health Effects

Routes of Exposure: Eye, Skin contact, Skin absorption, Inhalation, Ingestion.

Eye Contact: Causes substantial but temporary eye injury.

Skin Contact: Causes irritation.

Inhalation: May cause respiratory tract irritation.

Ingestion: May cause stomach distress, nausea or vomiting.

Signs and symptoms Symptoms may include redness, edema, drying, defatting and cracking of the skin. Symptoms of overexposure may be headache, dizziness, tiredness, nausea and vomiting.
Chronic Health Effects: From MSDS:

May cause allergic reaction in sensitive individuals.
Carcinogenicity: IARC-Group 3 (Not Classifiable): Permethrin CAS No 052645-53-1 Monograph 53 [1991]
First Aid: Eye Contact: Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing eye. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.

Skin Contact: Take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.

Inhalation: If symptoms develop move victim to fresh air. If symptoms persist, obtain medical attention.

Ingestion:Call a poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow. DO NOT induce vomiting unless told to do so by a poison control center or doctor. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

General Advice: If you feel unwell, seek medical advice (show the label where possible). Ensure that medical personnel are aware of the material(s) involved, and take precautions to protect themselves. Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Keep out of reach of children.
