Hazards to Humans and Domestic Animals

DANGER: CORROSIVE: Causes eye and skin damage. May be fatal if swallowed. Do not breathe vapor or fumes. Do not get in eyes, on skin or on clothing. Use with adequate ventilation. Wear goggles or face shield and rubber gloves when handling.

CHEMICAL HAZARDS: Never use with chlorine products. Can react to give chlorine gas. If this occurs, flush toilet to remove chemicals and leave area. Do not return for half hour. Ventilate if possible. Never use or mix with other cleaners or chemicals. Do not use on any surface that can be damaged by acid materials. Many surfaces are not resistant to acid. Do not use on PVD finished surfaces.

Emergency Overview: Danger. Corrosive Liquid. Causes eye and skin damage.

Potential Health Effects

Primary Route of Exposure: Skin and eye contact are the principal routes of exposure to this product.

Eye Contact: Eye contact may cause severe irritation or burns. May cause permanent eye damage, if not promptly flushed with plenty of water.

Skin Contact: Contact can cause severe irritation or burns and possible redness, swelling or blistering. Severity of action is highly dependent on contact time.

Inhalation: Inhalation can cause irritation and burning of respiratory passages.

Ingestion: If swallowed, this product causes severe damage of mucosal linings of the mouth, throat, esophagus or stomach.

Chronic Health Effects: From MSDS:

This product has not been evaluated for its chronic toxicology profile.
Carcinogenicity: Not listed by IARC, NTP, OSHA or ACGIH.
First Aid: Eye Contact: Flush immediately with water and remove contact lenses, if applicable. Then flush with large quantities of water for 15 minutes. Hold eyelids apart during flushing to ensure complete rinsing of entire surface of eye and lids with water. Get medical attention.

Skin Contact: Immediately remove contaminated shoes and clothing. Wash with soap and water for 15 minutes. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. If irritation persists, get medical attention.

Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical attention.

Ingestion: DO NOT induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water. Then give 1-2 glasses of water and call a physician or poison control center immediately. If vomiting occurs, keep head below hips to reduce risk of aspiration. Give water again. NEVER give anything by mouth to a person who is unconscious or convulsing. Get medical attention immediately.
